My problem is not about having something to write about --it's more about just not wanting to write. I sometimes go months without writing one word.

If you have a story in your heart then tell it. Don't stop until your through with your story even if it takes you a couple of years. Surround yourself with people who will encourage you. Don't try to edit as you go. Put the story on paper then you can go back and clean it up. Pay attention to word guidelines of publishers. Listen to feedback of beta readers but remember that in the end it's your book and your decision. Learn to be a concise writer. More is not always better.

Now that Halos, Hollers, and Hell is in the safe hands of my publisher, I'm currently working on the third book of the trilogy, Bankers, Brothers, and Blood.

I'm inspired to write in so many ways. I love people and am fascinated with the every day people in my community. They inspire me. I also love my "country raising" and want to preserve how things used to be. I also find myself itching to write after watching shows like Criminal Minds or Pride and Prejudice on television,

I write about what's going on or has gone on in my world. If I'm on vacation, then my characters are at the beach. If my friend has poison ivy, then one of my characters have a bout of the 3 leaf menace. I have new ideas every day. My most recent book will be in print by the end of 2014. Halos, Hollers, and Hell revisits McWhorter, but I like to think it's a kinder McWhorter than the one in Gravy, Grits, and Graves.
