What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Tom J. Lyons I enjoy mystery books. Usually my summers are filled with reading these. I read about 100 novels a year, a combination of fiction and non fiction books.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Tom J. Lyons In 1983 I moved from NYC to California. Drove across the country. Wonderful drive. Reminds me of "The Lincoln Highway" by Amor Towles. Along the way, I got lost a couple of times ..... I didn't have a map ...... Kind of got back on the right road by using the sun as a guide!

Tom J. Lyons The satisfaction of seeing your completed book published. Quite an accomplishment!!

Tom J. Lyons Read, read, then read some more.

What are you currently working on?
Tom J. Lyons I am currently writing a Stephen Kingish kind of novel that showcases the dark side of human nature. It will be published in early 2015.

How do you get inspired to write?
Tom J. Lyons I've been trying to write novels since I lived in NYC in the '70's. Back then I used to sit in the world famous NYC 42nd St. library to conduct my research!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Tom J. Lyons It took me over a year to outline this book, which I did before starting the writing process. I always wanted to write a book that honored the men and women from our greatest generation, plus I always wanted to write a fictionalized account of what happened aboard the USS Indianapolis. Thankfully, I was able to do that.
