No prob. I really liked your book, but the format errors at the end were devastating. Write me at contact@craigarobertson.com to discuss. You can also access me from my website. https://craigrobertsonblog.wpcomstagi...

I’m fairly unstructured. I’m also a first class procrastinator. So, I try to write one chapter a day or two hours per day, whichever is shorter. I rarely lack for inspiration. I’ve hit roadblocks a few times and I just let the ferment in my head. Something bails me out eventually.

Hi there, James. As much as I’d like to say I sat and planned the series like Gen Patton might an invasion, I’m 98% a pantser. I know when I start where the action begins and where it ends. Then I fill in the middle.

Ryan, thanks for the kind words. As to how much of Jon is me ... eh, probably not much. He's cockier, more risk taking, and impulsive. SO, I'd have to say I just created him from some vision of him in my head.

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out. Here's a link to my webpage where I address this issue. Somewhere along the line, especially with the audio adaptations Podium produced, the exact order got fuzzy. Note the first 3 series have boxsets which parallel the audio series. As the audio rolled out, I thought the companion boxsets might work well. Not sure they did. But for, say the first series, The Forever Series, Podium coupled books 1 & 2, 3 & 4, and 5 & 6 into The Forever, Books 1, 2, and 3. My boxsets of that series do the same. Now that I type it, I'm getting confused!

Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, the Ryanverse will continue! I'm working on book 4 now, maybe 30K words into it. I normally write quickly, but the pandemic has slowed me considerably. I've found it hard to be creative when surrounded by doom and gloom. Go figure. But I'm so curious what happens next, I have to focus pretty soon and get going. With any luck, I'll have Book 4 out in 4-6 weeks

Adults, but older kids (12+) might like them if those kids are mature. I dislike sex/nudity in fiction. All my "sex" scenes are, "Well as a gentleman all I can tell you is it went well." sort of thing. Never graphic. I only use curse words when they are actually needed. It one stubs one's toe, one said "darn it all." When you're about to die in a T-rex's jaws, "awe fudge" is not what one would likely say.

Kevin, thanks for asking. I'm certain it will. Unfortunately, Scott Aiello is on an extended vacation - silly boy- so GOF Part 2 won't be out until maybe October. That would put Rise OTAGs into Spring of next year. Podium likes him doing my stuff, so they're okay with waiting. We shall see.

No problema. I have 18 books of the Ryanverse, in 3 series, all 6 books. The Forever Life begins the first series. Embers begins Galaxy on Fire, and Return of the Ancient Gods begins the Ancient God Series. They are strictly chronological. Does that help?
Craig Robertson
There's a bit of confusion on volume numbering due to the audiobook producer, Podium's decision. The Forever Series had six books: The Forever Life, Enemy, Fight, Quest, Alliance, and Peace. Podium doubled up on them and released them as a three part series, The Forever Part 1, 2, and 3. That series, narrated by Scott Aiello, is complete.
Podium recently signed Scott and me to do the next series, Galaxy on Fire. That is also a six book series they will produce as three two-book boxsets. Due to Scott's busy schedule, the narration won't begin until April or May of this year. I anticipate the first edition, Galaxy on Fire, Part 1 to be out mid summer 2019. I'll make updates when they become available on Facebook and my website.
I hope that explains everything. If not, definitely let me know ... craig

Thank you for your thoughtful observations. Let me state absolutely from the start I'm on your side with this. By that, I mean I believe passionately in women's rights and their freedom from male persecution. It's a sad world we live in in that regard.
I also have an author's opinion on males writing female characters. Most major females written by males are just that: male versions of what a woman is like.
That said, yes, you gave up too soon. Jon is cocky and a "dude" but he's also as passionately aware of everyone's rights. Like any 1960s TV dad, sure, he doesn't get it all the time. But in the end he gets it right.
I tried, as best a male could, to make his wife, an alien, a strong female character. But I also never tried to make her the driving force, because I do not think I can write women correctly.
Throughout the series there are strong women. President Amanda Walker, a special ops soldier, Jon's future wifes, even a tough old barkeep. Many reviews say the book's misogynistic. That's just haters spewing. Mostly they are trumpers mad about one tiny slight against trump. I poke at a few politicians in the first few books. None of those trumpers even notice I published the prediction about his election before the elections.
I would challenge you this. Read books 1 and 2. Then tell me if I'm right or not. Email me at contact@craigarobertson and I'll gift you a Kindle version of book 2.
Thanks again for asking before hammering me. I'm one of the good guys. Trust me, I'm an author ; )

Thank you for your kind words, Prezombie. As an aside, there are support groups and powerful steam-cell moisturizing that work wonders with that plague.
As to the future, Podium have no approached me yet for Galaxy on Fire. I would find it hard to believe they wouldn't as my rookie project is so successful. If and when they do I will post it on FB and send out a mailing. You can sign up for my mailing list if you want. https://us14.list-manage.com/subscrib...

OH This is why I'm having trouble finding "The Forever Series" on Amazon! It's one audio book per two physical books with different names! Amazon need to work on this as Audible states WisperSync is compatible and to buy the Kindle one first but there isn't a kindle one for The Forever Part II (even though I guess that is "The Forever Fight" from what you have said above.) :/

Yeah, Amazon is amazingly less flexible than possible. I have 6 books and 3 double book box sets. They can't be linked or explained.

Hmm. Definitely not Winston and Julia in 1984. I honestly can't say. There are lots of guys and gals in fiction, but ones who are a couple don't jump to mind as favs.

Thanks for the praise. My ego gladly accepts. Book 5, The Forever Alliance, is in my editor's hands as we speak. So, it'll almost certainly be release it this month. I just have 3,000 words in Book 6, so that's a ways off. If you send me your email address, I'll add you to my mailing list and you'll get auto-updates. contact@craigarobertson.com. Inspiration is over-rated and over-valued. Writing is what I do. I don't require inspiration. A shoe salesman or a pilot don't require inspiration, they just do what they do. If a person sits and waits for inspiration like they're waiting for a bus, they gunna sit there a long time and they no be a writer!

I am blessed as I never have block. I procrastinate to beat the band and, at a certain point - maybe two hours - I get bored, but no block.

Write right now! If it's bad, work on making it better. If it's good, publish it and write again!

Too much! I am doing a much needed re-edit of The InnerGlow Effect, writing The Corporate Virus, with a non-fiction medical piece scratching at the door to get out, along with shorts as they pop into my head. Please help! The more of my work you read, the less back-pressure there is on my brain ; )
