Read. Listen. Observe---to everything from bird's songs and trees whispering to your friends evil-eye at your boyfriend, to great authors, or musicians, and mostly to yourself. Be quiet. In that quiet, remind yourself why you need to write.

Braiding into being something that was etherial and amorphous before it was housed in words threaded together. I then can watch it, not just be it's pawn. I also love the surprising interaction with readers. Writing is, in my naive world, a private thing. It is always a joyous surprise when I experience the company in shared stories.
