J.C. Wing My favorite fictional couple would have to be Billy and Anastasia from Jesse James Freeman's crazy wonderful Billy Purgatory series. These two have the most remarkable chemistry between them ... probably better than any other characters I've ever read.
J.C. Wing I take a deep breath and I try not to push. I've been shown many times in the last few years that if I relax and try not to stress, eventually the ideas come to me. I've learned that having faith in myself is the best policy.
J.C. Wing Do I have to pick just one thing?!? I've had stories roaming around in my head since I was a little girl. Telling them to others is an amazing thing.
J.C. Wing Read and write. Then read and write some more. Keep working and don't give up. If you want to succeed, there's nothing out there stopping you but yourself.
J.C. Wing I'm working on about four different projects right now. When I finished Alabama Skye, I thought that story had been told. I love this story...but I felt like I had brought closure to it. Readers, apparently, feel differently about it and I have been asked many times if there will be a sequel. How amazing is that??? These characters are very close to my heart, and bringing them back for another book would be fun. I've written an outline for a second book so we'll see how that works out. I'm also nearly finished with the first book in a new series I'm writing under the pen name Leigh Scott. The series is called The Goddess of Tornado Alley, and the first book is called Dead Beat Dates and Deities. It's a fun, lighthearted book about a girl named Frank who, although being incredibly unlucky in love, finds that she has been accidentally bestowed match making abilities after falling into a fountain and hitting her head on a statue of Aphrodite. J.C. Wing Life inspires me to write. There are so many colorful people, events and places that intrigue me. I have a fondness for the south, but I am also quite interested in Europe as well. I love to research, to learn about places and things I don't know much about, and characters...oh my goodness! I love to write about an interesting character. I've got stories going through my head all the time...just not enough time in the day to write them all down.
J.C. Wing Although it has been suggested in one of the reviews I've received, Alabama Skye is not autobiographical. The one aspect of this book that has anything at all to do with my own life is that my grandmother, like Sarah, suffered from Alzheimer's. The idea for this book came to me so long ago that I can't exactly pinpoint it's exact location, but my grandmother had a lot to do with the story line. She was always intrigued with all things Scottish, and she has always been at the center of our family. I lost her a little more than a year ago, but she will always receive the credit for the foundation of Alabama Skye.
