Hi Mick. I've noticed on the cover art of your books, that each of the shadowy figures on them wield the legendary Kukri daggers of the Nepalese Gurkhas. It's a particularly unique touch, and I was wondering what was the significance of featuring the knife, and how it came to be the running motif in the cover art of the Dan Roy series. ?
Mick Bose Hi Samuel well noticed! Dan Roy grew up in a Gurkha village as his American parents worked for the UN and were stationed there. This is part of the reason why Dan has legendary strengths- he used to run and down the Himalayan mountainside with the Gurkha kids. They also trained him how to use a Kukri knife and it became his weapon of choice! In the opening book Hidden Agenda this is all explained.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Mick Bose Simple. Get writing. Put your butt on that chair, and say no to distractions. Have that voice inside your head saying - do it. Do it now. Not later. And once you start get it over and done with. Finish it. Not half way.

What are you currently working on?
Mick Bose I am currently working on a series of thrillers based on a special forces soldier called Dan Roy who gets caught up in various conspiracies. One for the lovers of Lee Child, David Baldacci et al.

How do you get inspired to write?
Mick Bose I believe routine trumps inspiration every time. Waiting for inspiration is no good. You have to be there - sat at the desk, staring at the paper, screen whatever, and let it happen.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Mick Bose I got the idea while researching a longer historical novel. USA had developed a lot of chemical weapons in the first world war, but it was never used.
