Hearing that my work had a positive effect on someone else's life.

I do two things. Sometimes I take a day or two off and let things settle into my sub-conscience. This often helps me get a better perspective on what I'm doing. Other times, I just write through it. Recently, I wrote a really bad scene that I knew had to happen, but the scene wasn't working. After fiddling with it for a few days, I figured out what was missing and how to add it. Sometimes, you just need to keep working.
