Kelly Miller I never really dealt with writer's block until my most recent work in progress, "My Emerald Nightmare." For the first time ever, it was like pulling teeth to get the words out of me. So I stopped writing but then I started guilting myself because I was "wasting time" by not writing. It wasn't until I gave myself a break, telling myself that it was okay not to write that my mind was finally able to relax. And that's when the words returned. What I realized was that my life had been very chaotic, and I was just mentally exhausted. So if the words aren't coming, take a break. Eventually your muse will return.
Kelly Miller The most recent favorite fictional couple is Bella and Edward from Twilight. I know that a lot of people bad mouth the Twilight series, but I really fell in love with it when it came out. And of course I had to be Team Edward because I love vampires more than wolves!
Kelly Miller I don't think writers should wait for inspiration to write. If so, we're just asking for trouble. What happens when nothing's flowing? It could be weeks before inspiration hits. Doing it that way is just asking for writer's block. Instead, I have my "muse on demand." Every day I write something. It's like a muscle that has to be stretched regularly or it atrophies. As long as I sit my butt down at the computer and write daily, my muse happily pays me a visit.
