Alan Reynolds Basil and Sybil Fawlty from Fawlty Towers. Incredible writing highlighting the disconnect between a man and wife in a very comedic way. Probably the funniest TV series of all time.
Alan Reynolds Last year I visited a village in the Cotswolds (a very beautiful part of the UK) and took photos of the church (one of those features on the front cover of the book). I imagined this mysterious guy cycling down the hill into the village. What is his story I asked myself and The Tinker was born.
Alan Reynolds I guess it is about getting an idea then building that idea into a story - that is the inspiration
Alan Reynolds I have two books I have started I will go back to one of them shortly - I have been working on other projects

Alan Reynolds That is a difficult question to answer - it depends on what motivates you to write. For me it is about entertaining, wanting to stimulate people's thoughts and engage the reader in some way. Fulfilling that is the best thing - when someone tells you they have enjoyed your book.
Alan Reynolds I take a break then re-read what I have already written - usually that works
