Walking always gets me "unstuck." Sometimes I call myself a pace writer. Write, pace, repeat. I also use my husband as a sounding board for a scene that I can't figure out how to resolve.

It makes the ordinary extraordinary. In every situation or setting I look at all through writer's eyes. I watch the light, listen to the sounds, feel the textures. Observe, watch, and then write.

Keep writing. Find a group of supportive writers to keep you motivated. I "check in" weekly via email with two other writers. We email our goals for the week. Write down or record your ideas immediately before you forget. Because many of my ideas come to me in dreams I keep my phone next to my bed to enter brief notes right away.

My eighth book, "Twice Again", is currently being edited. It's a novel dealing with the themes of domestic violence and empowerment. I received a lot of positive feedback from my beta readers. And in November, 2017, I am participating in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). NaNoWriMo challenges the participant to write 50,000 words in one month. I will be working on my ninth book called "A Bridge Too Far". This book is set in Hawaii where I now live. Wish me luck. :)

I find, for me, a routine helps. I create a play list for each writing project, make tea or coffee, sit with my cat next to me and the words come.

Most of my book ideas come to me in dreams. After I finished writing "Quiet Water" I was taking a walk with my dogs. I was in a meditative relaxed state when I "heard" my protagonist ask, "Well, don't you want to know what happens next?" And so, I listened.
