Tracee Ford The most recent book, THROUGH GLASS DARKLY, is actually a continuation of THE FINE LINE. I wanted to finish up loose ends really. The paranormal stuff comes from my own experiences. The serial killer plot comes from my training in forensic psychology. The fact that Olivia is an addict and loses her child comes from my years of working in child welfare. So, it's a combo of everything, I think.
Tracee Ford The best things about being a writer is that is serves as a creative outlet. Whenever I'm frustrated or hurt, I can write and it is almost like catharsis. It is liberating in a sense.
Tracee Ford Writer's block is a very difficult thing for me to fight. Some people are able to overcome it fairly easily, but the only thing that helps me is time. I have to give myself time.

Research always helps me, too. Sometimes I feel like writer's block happens because I'm not sure what to do or where to go with my books. Researching helps me to figure that out quite often.
Tracee Ford My advice is to DREAM BIG and never give up! The work of publishing has changed so much and it is now looking toward indie authors. We finally have a leg up on the big publishers, I think. It is still a work in progress, but I think we are making major strides. So, just keep your eye on the goal and you will get there. Because I founded a small publishing house, I always invite people to ask questions about writing and publishing, as well as marketing.
Tracee Ford I currently have two projects in the air. The first is an historical romance and the other is a medieval fantasy. Both will be YA. Unless I change the historical romance into a more adult oriented book, which is very possible. I am co-writing the book with Jayme Ronan.

As for the medieval fantasy, that is inspired by real events. I cannot wait to get these into the hands of my readers!
Tracee Ford I was born with story telling in my blood. As a child I was making up skits and plays with my best friend. There was always some sort of story we were sharing with one another. I wrote my first novel when I was sixteen and it was a murder mystery. I wrote another book after that and it was a romance/suspense. Can you believe I tore it up? So, the only copy I have of that book is in my head. I wrote another one about a rock star who fell in love with an ordinary girl, too. I tore that one up as well. So, my inspiration comes from deep inside of me.
