Practice, practice, practice, even if it's only ten minutes or half an hour every day. Do your best to write regularly, and enjoy what you do, but be prepared to go through tough times to shape your concept and get it on the page. Remember to live life and look after your body. A writing career is very hard on body and mind. Repetitive strain injury, eye-strain, back strain, to mention a few problems. If you need chocolate, have it.
