Writing anything whether a book, article or a simple story needs a strong first sentence, an idea where you are going, and NEVER GIVE UP! They say the difference between an author and a writer is that "an Author is a writer who didn't quit."
Sandy Simon Currently, I am researching and writing my four families' history as my "Ancestry". I already knew 2 generations, but have found older relatives who share their legends, stories and all they know with me.
Sandy Simon Writing never came naturally to me.. I was always a "science and mathematics guy". Yet, after a great deal of quiet thought, observation of happenings in my life or around me, I found an urge to begin to write...at first simply and opening sentence. Then, amazingly, the words come to me. And sometimes they make sense!
Sandy Simon My passion for my community brought me to write of the incredible transformation of my home town from a commercially moribund, downward town heavily impacted by nearby the opening of two massive enclosed malls to a thriving city filled with new shops, restaurants, events and vitality attracting people of all ages. And it was driven by the cultural sense of "Ownership" of its citizens. I wanted the newcomers to know how that happened and who made it happen.
