Good question! I love to read romance and have my Kindle loaded for lazy summer afternoons reading an eclectic mix of contemporary romances, as well as historical westerns. At the moment, though, I'm loving my geeky side, as I read Neil deGrasse Tyson's, ASTROPHYSICS FOR PEOPLE IN A HURRY.

Great question! My life is more a plot for a romantic comedy. But if I were to pick a mystery, I would have to say it would deal with DNA.
Working on my family tree, I decided to have my DNA tested. What a surprise! All my life I was told I was one-hundred percent one nationality, only to find out, I'm not even that nationality! There could be a story in there of discovery and deceit, and who knows what else.

Good question! I would have to say my favorite fictional couple is Billy and Ana from WHEN LAW MET DISORDER. Billy is by-the-book straight-laced. To the point of being anal. And Ana is a tsunami of disorder who turns his world upside down. When they aren't butting heads, they sizzle. And then, of course, there is my fascination with a man in uniform. Which our sexy officer Billy Ray Trainor wears to perfection.

I'd love to reply that it's working from home in my pajamas, but I work a full-time job in addition to writing. No, the best thing about being a writer is when the plotting is all done, the story is unfolding on paper, and suddenly I hear the voices of the characters in my head. It's their voices that I follow, even when the path they lead me down is nothing like the charted course. Their voices breathe life into my characters and my story line. It's their voices that add the fascinating details I hadn't even thought of. And it's their voices that I will follow for every story I write.

I'm currently working on book three of my Tennessee Trilogy, When a Badass Rediscovers a Princess. I love this trilogy! Love seeing the children introduced in book 1 and book 2 all grown up, getting their own love story. What is really exciting, though, for me, is how different the story is turning out from what I had originally planned. Can't wait to finish it.

I believe writer's block is the reason internet surfing was created! Seriously, I've been very lucky to have only experienced writer's block for short amounts of time. And most of those times were because I was trying to take my story in a direction my characters did not want it to go. They drive my stories. Their voice is the voice in my head.
What to do? For me, I have to step away; focus on another aspect of the process. Maybe I'll work on a book trailer video. Or the cover. Things that keep me involved with my story but allow my brain to take a little break. If that doesn't work, then I "photoshop" pictures of my dog. Seriously, check out my Facebook fan page. He's there. Wearing glasses... a sombrero...a mustache...
But blessedly, the voice comes back. And with it, the plot twist or idea that was missing. And it's brilliant! And I'm so excited to add it that I abandon my next Photoshop project and rewrite that troublesome scene. And then the rest of the story!

Sometimes it's something someone has said, or something I see that sparks the creative flow. Other times, I'm awakened in the middle of the night by a couple characters who have decided I'm the person to tell their story. I guess I'm like Motel Six that way. I leave the creative light on... and they come. Boy do they come.

The journey of a lifetime starts with one step. Take that step, always believe in yourself, and never give up.

It was the natural conclusion to the two previous books I wrote in this series. The hero, all grown up now, was a child in the first book. The heroine, a child in the second book. It was only fitting they would find each other in the third book. The surprising part for me was the direction the book has taken. Nothing like I'd originally planned. Gotta love characters with their own voice!
