The idea for Beluga Fay, Volume 1 of the Dragon Bone Hill Trilogy, came from Daniel Dafoe's Journal of the Plague Year and Albert Camus' Plague, as well as the many news stories about epidemics and pandemics that have been so trendy for the last decade.
