At this very moment, it has to be Jim Halpert and Pam Beasley. I am rewatching the complete Office series with my son. While my son is distracted with the zaniness of Micheal Scott or the bizarre behavior of Dwight Schrute, there is a really wonderful, love story at play. I am a big fan of the Office UK, but the American version could make you laugh and cry.

I did a book club meeting the other night for Time Change One, but nearly everyone had read all three books. We had a big discussion on where a book four should go. Is it about Jack's dad and sister it a way earlier time frame? Is it about Jack? Which Jack? 1850's Jack or 1880's Jack?
I am about half way through a book about Jack's dad and sister so that was always my vote, but there is a year and a half of time to play with in 1850's Jack. There is 1880's onward Jack too. I was surprised when everyone voted for 1850's Jack.
That got me thinking, because I sure did like the Murphy character, I think there is a lot more about him I'd like to know. I do like that time period too.

Just power through it. Writer's block for me has always been a confidence issue. Either I don't believe in myself, but more often I don't believe in what I'm writing. If I'm not confident then I have to change something by better preparing myself or the material.
Oh yeah, read. We all should have some go to books, poems or stories that are of such genius, it almost makes them seem otherworldly. Like these exquisite works of art could not have been made by a common man with paper and pen (or keyboard and computer). Those always inspire me to start writing again.

There are no sexy, easy or fun answers, the only answer is--just write. Write instead of watching TV, write on a Saturday Night, write when you think that no one else in the world is going to read a single page of your writing. And one more thing--finish.

I just finished my fifth novel, "LIFE AFTER". While I was waiting for it to be edited I reread my first book Apocs Virus. I wrote it twenty years ago and it seems really clunky. The underlying story is good, I like the characters, but I think the story could be fleshed out a little better.
I also have about 30,000 words written of Book Four in the Time Change series. I am just not sure if I want to give up on the original characters yet (this book features the protagonist's father and sister in a completely different era).

I only write when I'm inspired and I work hard to be inspired every day. If you let things keep you from writing they will always keep you from writing.
