J.S. Jaeger That's a great question, Andy. We choose to write middle grade because there are a lot of readers in that age group that are hungry for great books. When our daughter was eleven, she quickly read the middle grade level books available to her and was constantly searching for more. She was asking to read books like Twilight which I felt were too mature for that age.

Our books don't shy away from hard topics, but they're written on the middle grade level so readers can find age appropriate entertainment while also seeing that they can overcome the struggles that kids are facing earlier and earlier in life.

Thanks for asking!
J.S. Jaeger If you want to write a book, you have to start writing. The only guarantee as an author is that if you don't write it, you won't be successful. So, start writing today. Your first draft will likely be bad. That's okay and completely normal. We give you permission to write junk. Once your ideas are on paper, start the revision process. It might only take three revisions to say it great. It might take twenty. Either way, you have to start writing in order to finish. Good luck!
J.S. Jaeger Thank you for this question. The Golden Wizard is the first book in our main series, Scrolls of Zndaria. The Dragon Slayer is the first book in our spin-off series of novellas, Short Scrolls of Zndaria, which parallel the adventures of our heroes in the main series. We are currently working on the second book in the main series and the second novella in the Short Scrolls series. I hope this clears up any confusion. Please let me know if you have further questions.
