Hey Dee J. Stone. I finished reading all fourteen books in your Mermans Kiss series (Counting spin-offs) and I absolutely loved it! As a writer myself, I have a question though. Stories often change and evolve during the writing process, so what was some stuff you either didn't plan to put into and/or ended up cutting from the Merman's Kiss series while you were writing it?

Okay I have a question for you guys, what pushed you into writing and what encouraged you to keep writing your books? I love writing stories but every time I start one I get half way and then I find myself not liking the idea of it anymore or just not writing at all and just abandoning it. Does that ever happen to you? Also thanks so much for writing the Merman's Kiss series its the best!

Thanks for your question. I’m glad you enjoyed my books.

I’m not sure what pushed my sister and me into writing. I think we’ve always been “creating” stories ever since we were kids, playing with our dolls or other toys. What kept us writing in the beginning was probably the excitement of writing a story and we encouraged one another. With every book I write, I always feel insecure about it, thinking it sucks and wanting to quit. I guess what keeps me going is that I know there will be some people out there who will enjoy it, and I don’t want to disappoint my readers. I remember reading over a story I abandoned a few months later and wishing I finished it. My advice to you is to put your story aside and come back to it a few weeks/months later. Do you still not like it? What about it don’t you like? Is the story too boring? Then think of ways to make it more exciting. Are your characters not likeable? Try to make them more likeable. Also, it helps to have someone encourage you. Is there a writing forum you can join or a writer’s group? Maybe a friend or family member can be your cheerleader? Don’t be too hard on yourself—your story is probably better than you think.

Hi there! I've been wanting to read one of your books, Merman's kiss, since like forever but can't seem to find a shop near me where they sell the book! I also can't figure out where I could possibly order it from. (I'm from the Netherlands, so that might turn out to be quite a challenge!) Have you got any idea where I could possibly buy your book? I believe Merman’s Kiss (as well as my other books) is available on Amazon Netherlands, though it is only available on Kindle. The paperback version is available on Amazon.com. Are you able to buy it from there?
