D.J. Williams Never give up...and write what you love. If you start thinking about how to craft the best novel so it sells then you've missed the joy in writing. I think it's better to write the story that's circulating inside, and then see what happens. After going through the system of writing proposals and then waiting for my agent to call with an offer, I've realized that it's impossible to know what a publisher is looking for, so I might as well write what inspires me.
D.J. Williams Writer's block is something that stops the story dead, but it must be worked through. Surfing on Facebook or Twitter isn't the answer. I've found that the best way for me to deal with it is to write. It doesn't matter if what I'm writing is good enough to keep, but what I've found is that in those times there's a nugget that I can pull from that gets me over the hurdle.
