The child's eyes sparkled as he spotted the small vial that sparkled back at him. He reached out, grabbed it with his tiny pillowy hand, and started unscrewing the cap of the glitter...

Hi Michelle, I'm sorry I haven't responded. I can see here that apparently you asked this question 2 years ago and I unfortunately haven't manned my author profile for a while as I have been so busy being a mum mostly!
To be honest I am still trying to figure this one out myself. I have referenced the Beatles lines as thoroughly as possible in the books I have currently published, but as I did not go through a traditional publisher, this question was never fully explored. My general understanding at the moment for future stories is 'if in doubt, leave it out', but I'm hoping to get myself more educated on the matter soon. And if I do find a more definitive answer I will endeavour to let you know. I would you to let me know if you have found out before me as well! Thanks, and sorry I couldn't be more help.

What ever happened to my favourite brown winter long-sleeve top?

I get my inspiration simply from the things that really interest me. My books are a quirky combination of many of my loves. Adventure, sci-fi, God, space and time travel, teaching, 'The Beatles'....
The main thing that really inspired me to write the 'Train Flight' series in the first place, was looking up at the stars, and wishing I could go up there and explore. I am extremely fascinated with space and might have been an astronaut in another life, as they say. But since I can't actually hop in a space craft and fly around having adventures in real life out there, I figure, writing about them is the next best thing. Strangely enough, after having written the stories that I have written so far, I do feel as if I have actually experienced those things. I've been there with my characters and done it all! I'm excited for more adventures to come!

Just write - no matter how bad or pathetic your ideas seem at the time, get them out on paper and they may take you somewhere you never even imagined before!

The best thing about being a writer, I think is the feeling I get while I'm writing. Because I write adventure stories where the characters travel and have adventures through space and time, I almost get the feeling that I'm ON the adventure. Sometimes I get an itching desire for this kind action-packed adventure, mystery and danger and I wish something like ti would happen in real life, but while it doesn't, writing the stories is the next best thing. When I look back at the places my characters have already been and things they have, I feel as though I've been right there alongside them the whole time. I have the memories of the adventures in my head. While it's not the real thing, it still feels pretty good!

I've working on a couple of things. Both the next book, which will be the eighth in the Train Flights series, but I'm also re-reading and editing the living daylights out of Train Flight number five - getting that ready for possibly publishing some time soon!

I come away from my laptop, try and do something else for a while, try and forget about it and then come at it again with a fresh mind a little later or the next day. But usually I'll get the flow again when I'm in the most inconvenient place - out shopping or somewhere where I can't write anything down. Sometimes when I'm lying in bed I get the best ideas for where to go next and I can't allow myself to go to sleep because I KNOW the idea will be gone by the morning. I must get up and write it down.If I'm stuck, usually spending time in prayer or meditation with God helps loads!
