I've dived into my third book, the last of a trilogy that started with Only the Moon Howls and continues in The Wolf's Den. I'm having fun diving into the characters from the first two books and getting acquainted with new characters. I'm not always sure where the characters will take me, but I love the journey.

The best antidote I've found is to commit to a certain amount of time to write (15 minutes, 30 minutes...) and then not care what I actually write during that time. I might start making notes to myself, which later become a scene, or I might do research on some story line. Even if I don't feel like writing when I start, most often I learn something important about a story or a character by just making myself scribble.

I'm reading a few books on philosophy and quantum mechanics at the start of summer. My book club specializes in philosophy, which can be slow going to read. I want to start reading Ted Chiang's book of short stories, Exhalation. The book sits patiently on my nightstand, waiting.
