Aww, a million thanks for such a sweet comment!!! I'm so deeply happy that you like the book, that means so much to me to hear this! I'm also a huge fan of witchiness, spooky stuff, dark soulful works, and I love that you felt that in the book! I was inspired by a lot of things I love - walks through the woods at dusk, reading spooky stories, a song called Griselda by a band Yo La Tengo (which describes a boy in a rowboat waiting for his love in a transparent dress)! I love a lot of dark aesthetic work and I'm happy to have made one of my own. Thank you for reading :)

(view spoiler)[This is a great question! My inspiration was actually a song called Griselda by a band called Yo La Tengo, specifically this line "Come won't you walk with me Griselda, Wearing the dress that moonlight shines through," which made me think of a ghost girl, and after whom I named my ghostly character. The whole song had pretty images that gave me visual inspiration, like the rowboat on the lake. I still love that song!! (hide spoiler)]

Racheal, thank you so much for your incredibly sweet comments and question! It meant so much to me today when I saw this, made me smile for the rest of the day thinking about this adorable library. As for the sequel, I'd loooove to write one - it all depends on whether the publisher wants to publish it. So, fingers crossed that the book keeps doing well and finding lovely fans and that I can write more adventures of the inhabitants of Blackwell! Many appreciative thanks again to you and your son for your kind thoughts for Grimoire! <3
