Ruthlessly. I heard a great quote once "Your dentist never gets dentist block" so every time I find that I'm stuck I remind myself I'm not allowed to have dentist block and sit myself back down at the computer.

I can work in my pajamas. Seriously. Life is so much better when you don't have to worry about dressing up, wearing pinchy shoes, going to an office and putting up with politics. Me? I get to roll out of bed, make a cup of coffee, do what I love all day long and never have to worry about what the person in the next cube thinks of my flipflops.

Write. Write. Write. Write badly. Write well. Just write. You can't sell a story that is still in your head. Sure, you may get rejected 5, 10, 5000 times but in the end you can't get accepted for publication or hit that self publish button on Amazon unless you have a manuscript that's complete and the only way to do that is to write.

I'm always inspired to write. I don't always do it because I'm also always inspired to procrastinate but I love to write. I always have. I started writing stories down at 5 years old and I've never stopped.
When I really want to make myself overcome procrastination though and get down to some serious writing though I love using music. Especially showtunes. Something upbeat that I can sing along with and then all of a sudden my fingers start to itch (my toes are not tapping toes) and boom, I'm writing.

My daughter (who was 9 at the time) asked if she could watch Game of Thrones. When I said no she asked if she could read Game of Thrones. I said no again. She got irritated and said "well fine, why don't you write me a fantasy story with a self saving princess that I can read already?"
So that's what I set out to do.
