I've lived in Florida since coming to grad school here in 1995 and have reported for a variety of newspapers and national magazines. During my investigative reporting work, I often met people who had extraordinary lives, but their stories didn't fit with my assignment. Fringe Florida is my attempt to document some of Florida's interesting residents and their lifestyles. Florida has a unique claim to each lifestyle in the book.
