I start with reality and then take steps beyond reality as I write. The number of steps I take depends on the genre. If I'm writing urban fantasy, it might just be a few changes I make but if I'm writing science fiction, it could be many steps I take turning reality in something more.

Many Blood Moons ago I worked as a model until I could support my family with my author career.
I got to wondering if I could write a story about a struggling model but of course, throw in a few vampire attacks and angels along the way.
What I got was the Hunters for Hire series and it's been so much fun to write!
