I'm putting the finishing touches to 'The Gifted. The Damned', a novel about a young girl who is possessed by a man living in a parallel dimension. I'm hoping to publish by Christmas. I'm also working on a collection of short stories entitled 'Winter Songs.'

Don't stop studying the craft of writing, because there's always something new you can learn. Read a lot, and be interested in the world. Above all, write, write, write and never give up, even when you feel you're getting nowhere. Persistence is key. Keep your focus, keep working hard and you will get there. As Stephen King says, 'professional writers are amateurs who didn't quit.'

The way I do it is to grit my teeth and just start. I'll use a pen or pencil and paper, because for me the physical act of writing forms more of a connection with what's going on inside my head than typing usually does. It doesn't matter what I write when I begin; it can be complete gobbledegook, and usually is. I just put down whatever comes to mind, and let one idea connect with another. But by the time I reach the bottom of the page the creative juices will have started flowing, the engine will have warmed up and I'll be 'in the zone'!
