I've been reading a lot of Japanese manga lately and that will continue this summer. I'm finishing the final released volumes of "Tokyo Ghoul" this week, then I'll complete "The Drifting Classroom" and move onto "Fullmetal Alchemist" and "Death Note."

Hi The Fountain Pen Diva!
I really enjoyed our chat at the LATFOB, as well. I have three teen novels and one middle grade that I've been shopping around to agents and/or publishers, but no takers as yet. I do have a free short story on Wattpad. Here's the link. Take good care and feel free to say hi again. I enjoy chatting with you. https://www.wattpad.com/myworks

Write. Even if you think your first draft is garbage, write it. Most first drafts are garbage. That's what revising and editing are for. But FINISH the manuscript. That's the first step in the writing journey, and the most important.

Spinner, my latest book - a teen horror/mystery - was inspired by the learning disabled teens I taught for so many years at the high school level. I realized that almost no books feature teens with disabilities as the heroes. My main character, Alex, has been in a wheelchair since birth and also suffers from learning disabilities. But he has an innate "gift" that makes him very valuable to certain groups of people, and none of those people want to use his ability for good. His misfit classmates gather vow to protect him and solve the mystery of who is after Alex and why. I'm excited to show readers that kids with disabilities are just as valuable to society and just as human as their non-disabled peers, and hopefully I can dispel some of the prejudices people tend to have about "special ed" kids.

My new novel, Spinner - a teen horror/mystery, is currently in the editing phase with a brand new publisher and is slated for release in June. Cover art looks amazing and I'm excited about this book. Outlining sequels now.
