Marilyn Bay Wentz In addition to my day jobs of raising sheep and writing two different periodicals, I am writing a sequel to Prairie Grace. Prairie Truth is the story of the next generation. It is set in 1886 Colorado and delves into the history of the San Luis Valley and its Spanish and Mexican land grants. In addition, I am very excited about a non-fiction book project under contract with Cladach Publishing, currently titled "All We Like Sheep--Lessons from the Sheepfold." I and my mother are using the stories of our collective seven decades of raising sheep to discuss the spiritual lessons our sheep have taught us. "All We Like Sheep--Lessons from the Sheepfold." is scheduled for release the spring of 2015.
Marilyn Bay Wentz Prairie Grace is set in 1864 Colorado Territory, and the skeleton story was a four-page hand written Thanksgiving story that I wrote at age 12. Extensive research about this time period in Colorado and trips across the prairie where abandoned homesteads really got my imagination going catapulted me into this writing journey just a few years ago.
