Robyn Rychards This is a difficult question because it's hard to narrow it down to one! I really like Noah and Allie from The Notebook because of their great personalities and their love that lasted a lifetime. I do have to throw in Phoebe and Mike from friends because she's so quirky and he's so... Not. I love how Mike enjoys her quirkiness and loves her for it.
Robyn Rychards I am mostly a pantser (I write by the seat of my pants) and I find that if I'm blocked it's because I'm not sure what I need to do next in my story. Sometimes, reading a book or two can help get some ideas going, but watching some of my favorite television shows or some movies, helps too. Another thing that works for me is taking the time to seriously think about my story, my characters and the things I know need to happen, how to make those things believable and then I'm able to move on. And when all else fails, I sit and make myself write, even if it's just a page or two because before you know it, something has actually been accomplished in the story and ideas are popping into my head.
Robyn Rychards Knowing that the stories in your head can bring enjoyment and escape to people all over the world.
Robyn Rychards Most likely the same as a lot of writers. Never give up. Never stop writing. And read, read, read as it's the best tutor. Ignore that devil on your shoulder that keeps telling you, your writing is junk no one will want to read, because that can be your biggest obstacle even after you're published.
Robyn Rychards I have two stories I'm working on, both romances, at different stages. One of them is a contemporary romance where the Hero is a professional dancer retiring from a dance competition television show, who gives his best friend dance lessons and choreographing dances for his wedding, as a wedding gift. As a result, he's paired with the maid of honor who is an accountant with a phobia for touching. The other one is a medical romance that takes place on a Caribbean cruise. The Heroine is the cruise doctor, and her and the Hero, a security guard on the ship, stumble on drug smuggling.
Robyn Rychards There's a wide variety of things that can spark a story for me, actually. Watching people can have me weaving stories about their lives and lead to a story line I want to pursue. Sometimes, like with my latest release, Her Knight in Shining Armour, it's a book I've read, but movies and television shows can get the creative process rolling as well. I've also come up with stories from tossing ideas around with fellow authors.
Robyn Rychards I've always enjoyed an element of suspense in what I read, and after reading a category romance from an author I enjoy that included suspense and danger, I decided I wanted to try writing something along those lines. Her Knight in Shining Armour is a Contemporary Romance, but it has an element of suspense and danger than keeps you turning the pages to not only see the Hero and Heroine get their happy ever after, but to make sure the bad guy gets what's coming to him.
