The idea for Earth Angel started almost seven years ago. It was my first attempt at writing at book and it was very different from the book being released October 31, 2014. If I'm being completely honest, it was originally a book about a college student and a vampire (this was when the vampire genre really started to get big), but I quickly realized that story was played out and I needed something new. I have always loved scary movies and books, so I wanted to include that element of fear without it being too terrifying for most to read and enjoy. Over these seven years I've written and re-written until it became the book I'm publishing very soon.

I've had several major inspirations over the years. My first and biggest one was whatever crappy job I had at the time. The desire to not get stuck doing whatever I was doing was inspiration enough to drive my writing. Another inspiration is my family. I want to be able to stay at home with my kids and be there for my husband while still contributing to the income. What better way to do that than with something I truly enjoy and love to do? My third inspiration is reading everything I can get my hands on.

I have finished writing the second installment in the Kamlyn Paige series, Hunted Angel. Currently I am editing and putting the final touches on it before I start writing my third book- a collection of short stories that follow two girls traveling across the country together called "Short Shorts". I'm always working on something.

If you have stories in you, write them. If you think your writing style is not up to par, then get advice from friends or hire an editor to help. There's nothing stopping you these days from getting your stories out there to the public.

The absolute best thing for me is the flexibility. I work when I want and from home. When I have my baby girl in December the flexibility will be a major plus.

I've found that the best cure for writer's block is to read. If I'm stuck or just don't like the work I'm putting out, I take a few days break and read something I really enjoy. That writer's style, story, characters, anything from the book can spark something exciting in my own work.
