No mysteries in my life, but I'd be the prototypical middle-aged woman snatched to a fantasy world, because unbeknownst to herself, she's a powerful witch.

I would love to live on Pern. Because... dragons.
Or maybe one of my own worlds, the Cloud Lands are quite nice.

Read lots and be aware of the stories. Take note of what you like and where the story leaves you bored. Learn from that example.
And write lots. Don't stick with just one story and edit it endlessly. Keep growing and stretch yourself with a new genre or some contest.

I can create my own worlds and characters, and I get to say what happens to them. Mostly.
Sometimes, the characters take over. Sometimes, I have to do things I do not like, so my characters can grow...
But it's still an amazing freedom to have.

For the longest time, I've tiptoed around writing about dragons. Yes, I have a few in short stories, but to really develop dragon characters and write about them took until now.

Inspiration is everywhere. It can be in a song, in the way the light slants at sunset, it can be on a license plate or in advertisments (I found the name of a villain in an url posted on a car).
Open your mind and observe the world around you. And then ask: "What if?"
What comes back is pure inspiration.

I'm currently working on a novella series about dragons and their riders. I have seven books planned, and am writing the third one right now. Number one is going to be released in October, the second one is in the editing phase.
The key question of this book is how dragons are treated by their human partners and what it looks like if no good balance is achieved. Of course, there's also much adventures and a little bit of romance, as well.
