I've always liked detective noir stories (my favorites are the Patrick Kenzie series by Dennis Lehane) and wanted to try my hand at the genre. I really enjoyed writing this story. It's dark, it's gritty, and I love it.

I'm currently in the midst of editing a detective noir novel, Lunatic City, set on a colonized moon and writing the opening scenes of the last of my Proceena Trilogy. I'm hoping to have the former out no later than October and latter around the new year.

I draw inspiration from a lot of different places. History is one of my favorites But, I truly believe that a professional writer sits down and writes even when he isn't feeling inspired. You just sit down and write one word at a time.

I typically just keep writing, whether it's good or not. Eventually, something worth keeping finds its way to the page and I just rewrite or (more often) just cut out the stuff I've done to that time.
