Hmmm. Horror is not my genre, but here goes:
Thanks to American Airlines, I wound up driving a rental car with a stranger from a different airport than planned, paying $150 more for that rental since it wasn't from the originally-reserved location, arriving late to my destination, and sans luggage since our carry-ons were kept on board the plane. And to add insult to injury, they canceled my return flight, so I had to spend an hour on the phone with customer service to reinstate my flight and track down my carry-on.
Yeah, first world problems. But that's my horror story for today.

I'd travel to all of the lands in Lord of the Rings. There are mountains, seas, forests - gorgeous. However, I'd prefer to not run into giant spiders, orcs, or any other questionable creatures. As far as what I'd do there, I'd do what I normally do on vacation - talk to the locals to learn the culture and enjoy the local food and adult beverages.

Red Sparrow, The Path, and Killing Lincoln to start with. I'll probably mix in something mindless and fun as well.

Off the top of my head, I'd have to say it's my missing pedometer. I don't lose things. Yet this object that I've been using for the last two years and set in the same place each evening completely disappeared. My husband and I looked everywhere for it. We think we might have a poltergeist in our house!

I don't usually read any novels with romance, so my favorite "couple" is actually a duo. I love Watson and Holmes. I've read all of Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories and thoroughly enjoyed their banter and relationship dynamics.

I'm working on webinars for my clients and marketing my current book, The Inefficiency Assassin. I'm also capturing my thoughts and ideas...the start of book #4!

Every time people find out what I do for a living, they start pouring out their hearts about how stressed they are and how they never have enough time in the day. This happens to me everywhere! And it got me to thinking, "Wow, this is a totally stressed out world. I need to do something about it!" Voila, the idea for the book was born.

I start by writing down stories that evoked a lot of emotion. Either I was affected by an incident, or my clients or friends or family were. It can be something that was frightening or infuriating or absolutely joyful.
I let the story bake.
Then I come back to it later when I figure out what point I want to make.

Keep a journal of your thoughts. It doesn't matter if it's on paper or in digital format. Just keep compiling your thoughts and stories. Eventually, you'll have the springboard for a book in your hands.

The best thing about being a writer is having an outlet for all of the thoughts and ideas and passions that are floating around in my brain!
