Nanowrimo! over 2800 words and counting (Today is November 1, but I started a couple days ago to get the voice going. Still, I think so far today I added about 1700 words, so I'm on track. Now getting back to work on it.

Richard Powers--many of whose books I have read more than once; JS Bach, who is an endless source of wonder; and food--hmm. Food is the toughest one! I like variety and am allergic to tomatoes, so maybe pesto pizza with a variety of toppings: Mozzarella plus Italian sausage, shrimp, onions, mushrooms, bacon, chicken etc., and beer to wash it all down. (I'll assume my desert island comes equipped with a fridge, an oven and a chef!)

I wish I could report that the sequel was on track, but I've been blocked for a time--possibly by indecision! However, I just started a new short story. If that primes the pump, there may yet be good news! In the meantime, it would mean a lot to me if you would write a review and post it on the Amazon site.

Get yourself into a critique group, and listen to what they say. As I writer, I have always found it very hard to be objective about my own writing. And since the writing is supposed to please a wide range of readers (not just me,) it's really important to listen to what they're saying. If you're lucky, their feedback will help you to achieve some objectivity of your own.
