Lorna Dounaeva I wanted to be a writer since I was very little, about 5 years old. I used to make my own little books when I was a child, then when I was older I returned to it more seriously. I think if you write, then you are truly a writer.
Lorna Dounaeva I would visit the Faraway Tree from the Enid Blyton series. You could climb to the top of the magical tree and visit a new world every week. I used to have a large Yew tree in my garden when I was a kid and I would pretend it was the Faraway tree.
Lorna Dounaeva I am getting into cozy mysteries lately, I also want to read some more Mark Edwards books, I loved the last one. And the new Marian Keyes one when it comes out. Love Marian Keyes!
Lorna Dounaeva I have always wanted to write. But reading great books and watching interesting films always helps.
Lorna Dounaeva I'm currently writing the sequel to FRY and I have another manuscript sitting in a drawer that I plan to finish off soon.
Lorna Dounaeva Listen to podcasts, read books and blogs on writing and find other writers who share your enthusiasm. Then, when you're all revved up, set yourself goals and deadlines.
Lorna Dounaeva I love writing stories I would like to read myself. My first book, FRY is 3 years old now, and that's long enough for me to re-read it because I've already forgotten bits!
Lorna Dounaeva For me, the best cure for writer's block is to go and do something else. Take a break, a walk. Anything that doesn't involve writing. I have most of my best ideas whilst I'm doing something completely unrelated!
