Barbara Miller Well it wasn't hard to decide what to write with my newest book, How to Write a Book and Tell Your Story, because so many friends and acquaintances ask me how to get started writing. They also said that some of the books they purchased were too complicated for them and they just wanted easy steps. So guys, here it is!
Barbara Miller I get my inspiration from reading. I read daily and take training classes on things I am interest in. If someone tells me they do not like to read, I wonder what planet they came from. Reading is such a wonderful privilege and we are so blessed in this country to have libraries, book stores and of course our computers.
Barbara Miller I really have two books I am interested in writing, one on health and wellness and one on Feng Shui. I have been gathering information on both so we'll see which one wins.
Barbara Miller Decide what you would like to write about and research your topic on Amazon to see how many books are out there in your genre. If there are no books on your topic, you may want to consider another one. However, if you find several books the same as what you wish to write about, just give it a new twist, put it in your own words and tell your story. Just because you see several books on your topic does not mean you shouldn't write your book, just make it a great read and people will buy yours too.
Barbara Miller I love writing and creating something out of words. Your words create stories and books are stories all woven into words to create great book. I love the feeling when I have truly helped someone through my books.
Barbara Miller Quite honestly, I grab a pen and paper and head to the beach. I know I am fortunate to live in sunny Naples, Florida. Not everyone can do that but the other thing I do is commit to writing at least one page a day. Even if I do not feel like writing and might write something towards another book I plan to write in the future. If you create an outline before you begin, this will help you stay on target.
