Diane M. Dickson Thank you so much. You really have made my day.
Diane M. Dickson I can never answer this because mostly I have a very vague idea, maybe only a sentence or two and a character and I just have to follow where they leave, it's what makes it such wonderful fun.
Diane M. Dickson It just happens. I can be happily drifting off to sleep and suddenly - biff - here comes a story.
Diane M. Dickson It's a novel about a couple who have moved away from home to find work. I have only just started it so I don't know much more than the fact that they are pretty much at the end of the road and now they have come to the aid of an old woman and don't realise that she is very wealthy. Where this will go I just don't know.

I am also looking at a sequel to the novel that is with my publisher at the moment but again it is in the very early stages.
Diane M. Dickson Just do it basically and read as much as you can of anything you can.
Diane M. Dickson I just love it. I can't imagine not doing it and I would do it even if at the end of the day I just had to bin the stuff I'd written. In fact I used to do just that when it was all typewriters and paper. I love anything to do with words and the marvel of what they can do when they are set down on screen or on paper. It's like magic.
Diane M. Dickson I worry and then I try to pretend it isn't happening and then I worry a bit more. I know that if I just wait it sorts itself out in the end though but what I don't do is force myself to write because I know anything I do will be awful and I'll have to delete it anyway.

I do edit and I read and read and read. Up to now that has worked
