My daughter reads well and is in Year 9 this year. She will turn 15 in September. I am desperate for good, clean, fiction and non-fiction for her - any suggestions?
Leah E. Good If you are still looking for good books for your daughter, you can check out the books I've reviewed on my blog. Most would be appropriate for a fifteen-year-old, and I try to call out any possibly objectionable content.

Who's your favorite character from Counted Worthy? (Btw, I've read Counted Worthy three times, and it's really encouraged me as a writer! :)
Leah E. Good Tough question! I love Heather, Bryce, and Miss Lucy. If I had to pick one of the three, probably Bryce. His personality is similar to my brother, who I'm very close to.

Leah E. Good Thanks for your question, Robert! My main advice would be to learn, learn, learn. Don't be afraid of stunting your creativity by studying the craft. Read books, read blogs, save up and go to a conference or two.

Secondly, don't loose your joy. Studying the craft of writing will make you realize how much work it is to be a good writer. Find a balance between effort and enjoyment, otherwise you'll burn yourself out.

How long have you been writing?
Leah E. Good I've been making up stories for as long as I can remember. Most of my early, childish penmanship stories are about horses. :) Writing became a craft that I studied and purposefully practiced when I was fourteen--so my typical answer is that I've been "officially" writing for 7 years.

Your book "Counted Worthy" was incredible. It made me cry- something that only truly deep books can do! I can't tell you how much I loved reading a work of fiction that had beautiful, Godly depth and a backbone for Christian truth. Have you made any more progress on the sequel? ^_^
Leah E. Good Hi Becca! I apologize for not seeing this when you originally posted it. Your words are so encouraging, and I'm glad you were blessed by Counted Worthy. Progress on the sequel is finally making steady forward progress. It's currently 24 pages long. :)

Are you writing a sequel to Counted Worthy yet? :) If you are, who will it be about?
Leah E. Good Not quite writing it yet (still outlining), but I am working on it! It will be form Heather's point of view again, though there's a slim possibility Bryce might "narrate" a few sections. It's promising to be a lot more complex in terms of government, technology, and setting.
