Sarah and Malloy from the Gaslight Mystery series by Victoria Thompson.
They are so similar in their soul but very different status and history wise. I love watching their romance develop as they solve crimes together.

For me, inspiration comes almost daily. I might read a book which gives me an idea for something similar but different. For instance, I just read a historical romance and my thought was 'wow, this is so cool but what if the rake in question was a werewolf'?
I also get inspired by events in my life or situations my friends share with me. I never use a complete situation or event but I often can take pieces of their life stories, change them a bit, and work them into an amazing story.
