Zia Wesley In 1971 I read a short chapter in an obscure out-of-print book from the UK that briefly told the "legend" of her story. At that time there had been little if any confirmation of Aimee's existence within the seraglio.
Zia Wesley I first read about 25 pages on Aimée (my main character) in 1971 and felt like I was watching or remembering the story unfold as I read. Her story never left me and when I had the chance to finally see if I could tell it myself, I wrote for ten hours a day for two years. This was before the internet was invented and I lived in a remote valley in southern Colorado with the only library forty five miles away. Six years later when I moved back to the Bay Area, I practically moved into the local library where I discovered that many of the characters and situations I thought I'd "imagined" were actually real.I was hopelessly hooked from the very beginning.
Zia Wesley The second and final book in my Veil and The Crown series; The French Sultana.

Zia Wesley I do something else, usually physical like hiking or swimming, and always outside. Getting away from my desk/computer and writing always gives me a fresh perspective and often brings insights. I do a lot of Yoga and meditation to keep my mind and body awake and receptive. Even just deep slow breathing is helpful.
