My first two novels tell the history of events, characters, and locations within the shadow of Diablo near my hometown. Book three is percolating as I research a new location and related events. No doubt, my present-day protagonists, Harrison and Celeste, will be there to uncover the mystery.

Because I write historical mysteries, inspiration comes from the research. I am constantly amazed at the web of connections uncovered when delving into past events, characters, and locations. When interesting connections reveal themselves through the research, they just beg to be written about.

My recent book, In the Shadow of Diablo - Death at the Healing Waters, tells the fascinating history of the Byron Hot Springs resort. As with my first book, I wanted to share the rich history of this location in a contemporary, hopefully more entertaining manner than through a biography. Writing about present-day characters entwined with events from the past makes for an intriguing challenge that I enjoy.
