L.M. Lee The best part of being a writer is getting to live a thousand lives. Everything my characters experience, good and bad, I experience.
L.M. Lee I'll listen to music or watch tv. Sometimes I'll abandon a story and start on a new one. I have tons of stories that I have never finished because of writer's block. I can't force a story. It either wants to be told or it doesn't.
L.M. Lee Just write. It may not be good. It may not be a story, but it will help you get there. If you have a character ask that character some icebreaker questions. Who are your parents? What did you bring to show and tell as a child? What's your favorite color? They'll never make it into the story but knowing your character inside and out can help build a story. Sometimes a character will write their own story.
L.M. Lee I was writing a story centered around the arch angel Lucifer when Amber from The Infected: An H1-2M1 Chronicle started fighting to be heard. She was a strong female lead that just didn't fit into that world. The world she belonged in had no angels. Her world took off in my imagination as I flipped through the primary debates and zombie shows. I wanted her world to be realistic. A fictional world that made you nervous because our reality could very well be The world Amber's grandparents grow up in.
L.M. Lee Most of my inspiration comes from music. Every song tells a story, sometimes a song will inspire a character and their voice screams at me wanting to be heard.
L.M. Lee I'm currently working on the sequel to The Infected: An H1-2M1 Chronicle.
