I can get inspired by anything. Every day things happen, or I see or hear something that sets off a chain of ideas. I carry a notebook and I write down all these little bits and pieces, because you never know what's going to seed a new story.

Probably pretty much the same that most writers will give. Read lots of books. Think, daydream, plan, write. Go to writing conferences and surround yourself with like-minded and supportive people.

All of it! Everything that goes into being a writer forms part of the process, so it's hard to pick out a single thing. But if I really had to pick just one thing - making stuff up that feels real to me, and to readers. That's the best bit.
