It's getting rebranded and finished... eventually.

Yes. I have two more planned. I'm currently writing the second book, Pitfall, and plan to release this spring if all goes well. The third book I'm planning to release by the end of 2025.

Network with other authors to help with advice. Other authors aren't your competition, they are your resource. The indie author community is awesome. Also, there is no single correct way to do something. If you want to write a book then do it. I wrote my first book on my iPhone because I wasn't able to find time to sit at a computer long enough to commit the words to the page. Some authors use dictation. You have to find out what works best for you and make it happen.

Making stuff up and seeing people get excited about it.

To be honest, I either take a break from writing for a while or I jump to another project. The problem with stopping is it makes it more difficult to start again. The problem with starting a new project is it can derail your older stuff. Life is about balance and sometimes you have to suck it up and make an effort to get your words down each day. It sounds easier than it is some days :)

I jump between projects a lot, but I'm working on book four of The Alorian Wars as well as some novellas for co-authored story worlds I'm developing with some friends.

I was inspired to write The Alorian Wars after reading the first five books in The Expanse Series by James S A Corey. I was deployed on the USS Harry S Truman and I had about two months left of the deployment. I began writing and having one of my sailors read chapter by chapter. His enthusiasm helped a lot and I was able to send the book to my editor a week or so before coming home. It was a great way to end the deployment.
