Alex D.T. Baker I actually have been thinking about going back and reading the Stephen King Dark Tower series - I have to admit the movie trailer has drawn my interest in a series that I really had not given much thought about.
Alex D.T. Baker From any format: Vegeta and Bulma. Why? Maybe because it was so unexpected. Really - his character would leave most to wonder how anyone could stand to be around him, much less fall in love with him. And, yet, there they are. Truly, there is someone for everyone. That and I found their interactions to be very humorous. It also helps that I met my fiancée over a conversation about them.
Alex D.T. Baker I would be more than happy to provide e-copies of the books. In return I would greatly appreciate an honest rating or review. Just send me a message letting me know what email address to send them to and what format you would prefer. Cheers!
Alex D.T. Baker My next project will be part 2 in the Frailty series. Working title is Demon Lust. Will probably complete that before doing part 2 to the Symbiont trilogy.
Alex D.T. Baker Music does it. Emotional moments do it. Sometimes just walking the dog and having that time to think does it. I really do not have a rhyme or reason to my inspiration. Ideas have always just come to me, and I have an endless list of them at any one time.
Alex D.T. Baker Symbiont? Hard to say. I actually had the idea some 15+ years ago. Really the title had popped in my head long before the story was fleshed out. I don't recall what I was doing, but this title "Stairwell: Starring Jennifer" flashed into my head. Originally as an idea for a graphic novel. Stairwell became synonymous for each issue being a story of a different person's life as they played host to the alien. Eventually that morphed into Symbiont (because no one I spoke to understood what the hell the word Stairwell had to do with the story - a little too loose a reference). But that's how I get a lot of ideas - nothing particular happens - just an image or title pops into my head and the story builds around it as I think about it. often it's a visual process. I can "see" the story - like storyboards. So I just write to build around that.
Alex D.T. Baker I can create anything. I can be anyone. I can go anywhere. I can share something meaningful to me with others. I get to entertain others.
Alex D.T. Baker I've never actually had, what I would consider to be, full-on writer's block. I've always got new ideas. And, when I'm working on something, I usually have a steady stream of visuals in my head of where I want it to go. I've had times where I just hit brain overload for the day or was stumped on exactly how I wanted to proceed with a description, etc. I find walking away for a bit to be good. Listening to music. Taking a walk. Or just sitting in a public place and watching or talking to people. Nothing trips the juices like hearing another person's account of something going on in their life or having them just provide a nice distraction.
