From peaching too many bad sermons, and becoming persuaded that I ought to improve! More seriously, I'd been preaching, and teaching preaching, for many years, and had been trying to systematise why we preach, and how to think biblically about the issue. The opportunity came to go to Sydney and give the Moore College lectures, and I couldn't really turn it down.
