Matthew Keville The Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King, followed by The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. If I get through those, I'll probably follow up with something by R.S. Belcher or Edward Lee.
Matthew Keville I'm currently working on Turning The Curse, a supernatural erotic romance inspired by the 1961 Hammer Film The Curse of the Werewolf starring Oliver Reed. In that movie, the werewolf (played by Reed) has the Love Of A Good Woman - they're even (ahem) mated. You think this might lead to something significant. At the very least, he might be unwilling to harm her. But no, nothing comes of it.

Turning The Curse is about a young woman - a proper Hammer Films heroine - who realizes that the young man she loves is the werewolf who's been stalking their village for months. With neither the power nor the skills to defend him and the town from each other, she has to find another way.
Matthew Keville Read Stephen King's On Writing. It's the best book I've ever read about writing as a craft. Then read Fred Clark's The Anti-Christ Handbook, volumes 1 and 2. In its critique of The Worst Books In The World, it gives a wealth of advice on what not to do for writers of all degrees of experience.
Matthew Keville My most recent book, Dreams of the Boardwalk, started out as a love letter to Coney Island, where I've spent many a happy hour walking the beach. It was intended to be a short story, an introduction to a fantasy novel (or series of novels) that I'm hoping to write, but it quickly grew into its own thing.
