Mary, Thank you!! I love to hear from people who have read a book. Makes me do a happy dance. : ) Yes, the sequel is with the editor now and due to be released in late January or early February. It is called Son of Caleb. If you have time, I would appreciate a review on Amazon. Being a fairly new author it's only through word of mouth that others will read my novels. I know, however, everyone is very busy. Feel free to contact me anytime on here or facebook; kimberly shursen author, or my personal page kimberly shursen. Thank you again for asking me, and I hope you have a safe and peaceful holiday season. Kimberly

Lottery just came out last week. For years. people have asked each other what they would do if they won the lottery. This question, coupled with seeing co-workers who split the proceeds if they all went in on a lottery ticket, led me to start thinking about two men who made a pact that they would split the winnings if they had the winning ticket. The idea went even further when Caleb O'Toole was created. What if a man who appeared normal to society had a dark side to him? What if the friend who held the winning lottery ticket reneged on the agreement? And what if the darker side of Caleb O'Toole became even darker with this broken promise; especially if Caleb was in debt with a big-time bookie who was threatening him and he felt that the 746 million dollar mega-lottery ticket would help him win the woman he wanted to possess. All these ideas came into play when writing Lottery.

There is no one to tell you that you have to meet a deadline, or your numbers need to be improved; I set my own pace and standards. When I worked in corporate America, it was all about the bottom line. The bottom line for being an author is to produce a quality novel that I am proud of.

I have never had writer's block. I can't imagine having it. I think this is because I never have one plot going, but two or three that interweave with the main story line.
