D.B. Sieders The anesthesiologist's voice faded as I counted down from twenty. Then a scalpel split my flesh as I silently screamed, "five."
D.B. Sieders Wow, that's a tough one! Given what I read, it could be a bit dangerous. From 18th century Scotland; to the dark corners of the FBI devoted to catching serial killers; to worlds inhabited by vampires, demons, shifters, and all manner of terrifying creature - and don't even get me started on Stephen King!

Right now, I think it might be fun to hang out in Albuquerque with Charley Davidson and Cookie Kowalski. We'd have dinner and drinks at Calamity's while ogling Reyes. I won't be following Charley on any cases, though. That crazy chick gets into waaaaaaaaaay too much trouble!
D.B. Sieders The search for my birthfather - lots of great plot potential!
D.B. Sieders I'm always juggling at least two projects (and normally editing more), so I deal with a block on one project by moving to another.
D.B. Sieders The best thing about being a writer (for me) is sharing the voices in my head with my readers, who seem (for the most part) to find them engaging. I've also been lucky enough to network with some great authors and to meet some of my idols, like Jeaniene Frost and Diana Gabaldon! Hoping to add to that list.
D.B. Sieders Write, write, write, and don't stop until you finish something! Your first draft will have all kinds of problems. Those problems can be fixed and will be fixed as you hone your craft and learn to edit.

But you'll never get anywhere unless you finish the book!
D.B. Sieders Southern Elemental Guardians Books 4-6. Book 4 is Firestorm and it's all about my favorite sexy, snarky Sylph, Bruce!
D.B. Sieders The short answer is that I sat down to write a short story (after a few glasses of wine) in 2008 and then wound up catching the writing bug. 5+ novels, and novella, and some short stories later, I'm still finding inspiration and love being an author!
D.B. Sieders For Southern Elemental Guardians, I blended mermaid myths and legends from Europe (Lorelei, Melusine, Ondine, the Rhinemaidens) with North American/Native American legends (Sky Father, Tlanuwa, Maanameg, Dakawa), added a dash of shapeshifter, threw in some extraordinary mortals and put them all in a lush Southern setting.

For other works, I normally touch on the familiar in my life - laboratory research, autism, and the power of love.
