I have always been very passionate about the horrors of racism and bigotry. I wanted to send my own little message, in my own way, to express that hate for no other reason than the color of one's skin, their religion, country of origin, sex or sexual orientation has no place in today's society.

For me, there is great satisfaction in writing a story from beginning to end. For many years, I had no idea if I was capable of such a feat. But after my first novel was released, there has been no better inspiration than great feedback from readers.

(view spoiler)[I am writing the third book in a series. It is the official sequel of the first book, Nameless. The villain from that story returns after a four or five year absence. So far, I plan to call it "Faceless." (hide spoiler)]

I think overwriting is the biggest mistake authors make. You always want to make sure your story is moving and too much fluff stops it in its tracks. Don't include anything that doesn't advance the plot. What you write might sound pretty to you and many others, but most people read because they want to be compelled to turn the page.

That's an easy question. Hearing from and interacting with readers is definitely my favorite part of the whole process. Obviously, we write stories so that they will be read. When a reader takes the time to contact me after finishing one of my novels, that alone makes it all worthwhile.
